The house has been in a core zone since the city’s new regulations. Therefore the outlines of the existing volumes are protected and the project had to be developed with only interior updates. The main focus was to establish an architectural dialogue between the old parts and the new elements, between the past and the present. This building was approximately 40 feet long and about 20 feet wide, on an irregular lot. To keep complimenting the depth of the building, a repositioning of the kitchen was much needed, which was done with contemporary layout. However, to stay in the mood of the space, we used the Heritage kitchen cabinets. The new architectural detail added to the ceiling of the house also complimented the elongated shape of this house.
Modern bathrooms in a traditional house add the touch of luxury, so needed these days.
